Gangasagar Mela 2020

This was a tour of Gangasagar through Diamond Harbour,Kulpi and Kakdwip. We started on 14th of Jan'2020. The plan was to visit all the pristine locations on the way to Gangasagar.
We started with Diamond harbour. Took a brief stop alongside the banks of river Ganges at Diamond Harbour. Here are some of the shots of the harbour..........

Then we proceeded to Kulpi . The picture below is the Panchayat office at Kulpi Bazar.

Then we went to a nursery on our way to the banks of river Ganges at Kulpi. The nursery is midway from the Kulpi Zero point to the Ganges. Below are the pics of the nursery; it's a vast expanse of land of flora and fauna.

Next stop was the Ganges at Kulpi..........

We returned to Kulpi Bazar and stayed the night there.
There were many such projectors along the National Higway leading to Kakdwip for the purpose of Gangasagar tourism.

Cooked our food for the night at a makeshift shelter

Next day,on 15th Jan 2020 at noon we started our journey for the Gangasagar........
This is Lot No.8 Jetty at Kakdwip, from where we had to embark on a ferry to cross the Ganges and to reach the other side which is known as Kachuberia

We rested our tired legs here for a few minutes and started our return leg of the journey .

The ferry services at this part of the land isn't available all the time. Ferry crossings takes place only at high tides. So proper knowledge of ferry timings are a must otherwise a big gap will be waiting for you.
